Raj Adesh (Carolyn McTaggart)

I’m a KRI certified Kundalini Yoga, gong and meditation teacher based in Glasgow. My Kundalini Yoga journey was seeded in 2015 when I first experienced the richness of this technology. I welcomed and embraced the deeper connection to mind, body and spirit. It opens you to new sensations – more energy, positive thoughts, flexibility, strength and creative expression.

I’m particularly fascinated by the healing qualities of the Naad (the essence of all sound) – whether through my interests in music, contact dance, mantra or the gong - and how it helps us elevate our spirit and enrich our lives. I lead regular classes and workshops suitable for all abilities – from complete beginners to more experienced yogis.

You don’t have to find anything outside of you. The jewels are all in You.

I’ll equip you with the practical tools and techniques of Kundalini Yoga, which you can use to build strength, vitality and aid relaxation – connecting breath, mantra, movement and meditation to raise your potential, while encouraging safe practice.

I completed my Level 1 Kundalini Yoga teacher training with Sahej Academy and trained with gong master Mehtab Benton. I’m now discovering more jewels through my level 2 modules drawing inspiration from the Kundalini Yoga community and holistic practitioners worldwide.

What my students say:

“I love the combination of chanting, kriyas and meditation, and for me it’s my new yoga drug of choice. Carolyn not only gives fantastic instruction in a kind and gentle way, but she has so much energy and enthusiasm for Kundalini Yoga that it shines through.” – Dave, Glasgow

“Carolyn has a kind, open heart and makes everyone feel welcome – no matter if you’re a beginner or an advanced yogi. It’s great learning yoga with someone who has such a passion and interest in the practice, as I always feel safe and comfortable with her – not to mention fitter, healthier and happier.” – Erica, Glasgow

Kundalini Yoga Online - Awaken Your Intuition
Tuesdays 6.00pm-7.15pm via Zoom

10 November - 15 December

The strength of our intuition - the ability to protect ourselves and deal with life's ups and downs, while maintaining an open heart - lies in the strength of our arcline and connection to the Ajna (sixth chakra).

The arcline is the foundation of the radiant body and is closely linked with the pituitary gland which regulates our nervous system, hormone balance and subtle perception. Imagine a halo running from earlobe to earlobe – that’s the arcline. When the arcline is in balance you'll attract opportunities and have the intuition to act on them wisely.

In these sessions we'll use Kundalini Yoga breathwork, movement, mantra and meditations that work on the Ajna, pituitary gland and arcline so we can awaken the intuitive force within.

All welcome. Not suitable during pregnancy. £10 per session or gift what you can to: paypal.me/yogibytheway or email me for bank transfer option.

Pocket Wisdom - Mudra and Meditation Sessions
Thursday 7.00pm-8.00pm via Zoom

Next date: 3 December

Theme: Touch others - a sequence for harmonious communication

Our hands are an extension of our heart… the simple pleasure of holding a mudra can be a welcome hug from the Universe when needed to nourish mind, body and soul.

A mudra is a hand or finger position that locks and guides energy flow and nerve reflexes to the brain. Also known as ‘seals’ or ‘gestures’, mudras play a crucial role in moving prana – our life force energy and are a fundamental tool in Kundalini Yoga practice. Pre-language we communicated through gestures as a way to interact with nature and the world around us. Mudras are also code for the brain – to communicate within, not just outside of ourselves.

In these playful practical sessions you’ll experience:

  • Different types of mudras

  • How to practice mudras

  • Using mudras to support healing and personal transformation

When we consciously combine mudras with mantras the effects of both the mudra and the mantra are accelerated and multiplied. This conscious placement of sound into the physical body is called Nyasa. Kirtan Kriya is perhaps the most common example of this. We’ll be exploring a different mudra series each week.

All welcome. £5 per session or gift what you can to: paypal.me/yogibytheway or email me for bank transfer option.
