Shanti Nam Kaur (Mai)

My yoga journey began over 20 years ago with Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga.

I enjoyed the health benefits of both and relied heavily on my practice during both my pregnancies.  However, I didn’t truly ‘connect’ with yoga outside of the physical.

Three years ago I joined a Kundalini Yoga class and after three sessions I was hooked!

It was the first time I wanted to truly understand a practice and integrate it into my daily life.  The lights went on and I finally understood the “union' of true Yoga.

As an Ayurvedic practitioner and therapist I loved how Kundalini Yoga fitted into the picture - it was like the final piece of the puzzle!

In 2017 I began my teacher training with Hari Har Ji and Sat Nadar Kaur of the Sahej Academy. I qualified in 2018 as a KRI Level 1 Aquarian Teacher and am now building up my class schedule from my studio in East Lothian.

I also hold longer workshops during the school holidays where we practice two kriyas and two meditations and enjoy some Ayurvedic food and teas.

I have yoga and Ayurvedic retreats coming later this year.

24th September

We invite you to this magical day in The Yurt surrounded by the beautiful East Lothian countryside.

This day will be centered around the Women’s teachings from Kundalini Yoga and infused with Ayurvedic wisdom to learn about, and harness our Shakti - our feminine power or energy force. This power resides within us all, but is often untapped as we unconsciously navigate the stress and strain of modern life. This subtle energy force can manifest in many different ways and once she is awakened she can literally empower any practice, project or task.

This beautiful day will include yoga, meditation, breathing, chanting, yoga nidra, sound healing, cacao ceremony and more

3 course Ayurvedic lunch and snacks and teas throughout the day also included in the price

Saturday 24th Sept 9.00am to 17.30pm

with optional sadhana from 5.30am to 7.30am and optional sea swim at 18.00pm.

Booking open now, but places limited to keep this intimate.

If you are travelling from afar we can also offer accommodation options but The Yurt is easily accessible by car from Edinburgh (let us know if you need car share)
